Compliance Department

Purpose

  The Compliance Department supports Navajo Nation DOT transportation development through expertise, stewardship, and leadership that honors community voices while upholding federal and tribal environmental and cultural standards. We advance self‑determination by setting clear goals, integrating protective infrastructure solutions, and ensuring transparent reporting that strengthens safety and resilience across the Navajo Nation.

  The Compliance team works to support Navajo transportation development by protecting environmental and cultural standards, ensuring safety, and supporting the traditions of our community through research and consultation.

  To conserve the environmental and cultural resources to further restore and sustain quality road systems through collaboration.

 Archaeology plays a crucial role in the development, design, and construction of road projects on the Navajo Nation by identifying and preserving culturally significant sites and artifacts, ensuring respect for the Nation's heritage.

The Department of Project Management provides professional and technical services to Navajo Nation communities, including participating in meetings to address transportation needs, oversee road maintenance and improvement projects, and propose infrastructure enhancements while ensuring compliance with cultural and environmental regulations.
